Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who managed to move from the country genre to mainstream culture, and has become an icon of the pop culture. The singer also swept every continent in the process. Swift shed country like it was an additional layer and proved that she's possibly the smartest pop-singer/songwriter her generation. A person who has the ability to tap into the current zeitgeist and make it personal, and perform in the opposite. Swift's early songs, including their neo celebration of Tim McGraw, showed off the talents of her. But her 2008 album Fearless showed a singer-songwriter who was re-discovering herself and was able to draw a wide audience. Fearless became a big hit not only in America where it's Top Ten singles Love Story as well as You Belong with Me helped it to break six platinum records but also around the world. It was a huge success in Canada, Australia and the U.K. Swift's new album, Speak Now, released nearly two years following the debut, further consolidated this momentum. It propelled Swift to the heights of fame. Swift's popularity grew through her three subsequent albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift became a household name within a genre where she belonged. Even when she scaled back her strategy with 2020's stripped down sibling releases folklore and Evermore she remained atop the world of pop, a position she maintained with re-recordings of her earlier catalog, as well as Midnights which was her top-charting synthesizer 2022 album.
