Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is also an author. She's the co-founder and director of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist as well as a TV host and owner of the liberally independent online news magazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and moved to England in the year sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. She was elected president at the age of 21 of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student to hold this title. When she graduated, she made her mark as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate as well as with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice portal which included critical comments regarding the current political situation. Arianna was able to attract numerous prominent contributors who shared their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in a recall vote in California in order to take over the position of Governor Davis. The project she headed was an Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Forbes listed her as the 12th most influential women on the planet in 2009 and Guardian added her to the list of Top 100 media in that same year. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and the post was made president by the group of media. This included many AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management advisor and journalist. Although she was close to her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother that shaped her character. She displayed leadership qualities at an early age. At the age of 16, she began studying with her native United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the 3rd and only female to be elected president. After graduating in 1972, she received an advanced degree in Economics. She worked as a critic in the media, as well as host of a television show and as a columnist shortly after her graduation. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She began writing books and enlisting his assistance for editing.
